One heck of a party! We don’t know for sure which band this was or at what club they were playing but it’s possibly the Playboys (A group before Gary Lewis)? Check out the two guys in the lower left. Wonder if the photographer got out safely.

Hot time at the famous Rainbow Club at Spicer and Pacific Avenues. Don’t know why they needed the police scooters for crowd control; the Panic(s) was inside, not in the streets! Putt, putt!

The famous Rainbow Club, “Home of the Young Stars” and birthplace of the “TWIST!” The Rainbow was not very prominent in the early days of Rock and Roll, but in the late ‘50’s, and especially the mid-’60’s, the club became one of the top four venues to see the current and future Rock legends. Along with the original Hurricane, the Beach Club, and, of course, Phil and Eddie’s Surf Club. These clubs were “where it was at!”
